Building Progress at TrainSpotting

From Empty Hall to Boulder Gym

Over the past weeks, TrainSpotting has taken a huge step forward. What started as an empty industrial space is steadily transforming into a dedicated bouldering gym built with intention, craftsmanship, and a lot of hands-on work.

The Space Is Taking Shape

The core structure of the hall is now clearly visible. Wooden wall panels are in place, the main bouldering angles are defined, and the overall layout of the gym can finally be experienced spatially. Walking through the hall no longer feels like walking through a construction site — it already feels like a climbing gym in the making.

The decision to work extensively with wood and dark structural elements was very deliberate. The goal is to create a warm, calm atmosphere that contrasts with the intensity of climbing itself — a place that feels solid, honest, and timeless.

Wall Construction & Details

The bouldering walls are currently in advanced construction stages:

• Overhangs and slabs are mounted
• Volumes and mounting grids are prepared
• Wall textures and transitions are finalized

Every angle is built with both movement quality and route setting flexibility in mind. The focus is not on sheer size, but on creating lines that inspire creative movement, tension, and progression — for beginners and experienced climbers alike.

First Holds, First Lines

The first sets of holds have arrived and are already partially mounted. Seeing the first colors on the walls is a milestone — it’s the moment when the gym starts to feel alive.

Route setting will follow a clear philosophy:

• frequent resets
• varied movement styles
• problems that reward technique, not just strength

Infrastructure & Training Areas

Beyond the walls, work is progressing on:

• training and warm-up zones
• strength training elements
• seating and social areas

TrainSpotting is not just about climbing problems — it’s about creating a place where people want to spend time, train consistently, and connect.

What’s Next

In the coming weeks, the focus will shift to:

• final wall completion
• full route setting
• safety checks and fine-tuning
• preparing everything for the Grand Opening
